Sri Lanka
Please be praying for believers in Sri Lanka. The war has simmered, but persecution is boiling.

A poem and a prayer
This poem is my prayer for the New Year. That everyone would live a life abundantly for God.
ANOTHER YEAR IS DAWNING
Frances Ridley Havergal
ANOTHER YEAR IS DAWNING
Frances Ridley Havergal
Another year is dawning:
Dear Father let it be,
In working or in waiting,
Another year with Thee;
Another year of progress,
Another year of praise,
Another year of proving
Thy presence all the days.
Another year of mercies,
Of faithfulness and grace;
Another year of gladness
In the shining of Thy face;
Another year of leaning
Upon Thy loving breast;
Another year of trusting,
Of quiet, happy rest.
Another year of service,
Of witness for Thy love;
Another year of training
For holier work above.
Another year is dawning:
Dear Father, let it be,
On earth or else in heaven,
Another year for Thee.

The Power of Prayer

I am currently reading The hiding place by Corrie Ten Boom. The thing that stands out the most for me in this book as that through good times, hard times, through birth and death this family prayed "without ceasing." They prayed for small seemingly insignificant things, for life and death things and for the impossible. They then sat back and left it to God and saw the impossible unfold before their eyes. How much are we missing out on by not praying enough or with enough faith? How many souls are waiting for us to be open to God using us to expand the kingdom?
"13If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"
-Luke 11
"21 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do what is done to the fig tree, but even if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea, it shall be done. 22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. 23 "
-Mathew 21:21-23
"12 rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing stedfastly in prayer..."
-Romans 12:12
"17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,"
Ephesians 6
